Fuel Thefts

As you are aware the current situation in the Middle East is having a profound impact on the price of fuel throughout the UK and in particular household heating oil is affected the most. We are aware that a lot of our rural residents depend on heating oil living in isolated rural locations. Criminals will look to exploit any avenue to to maximise their profits irrespective of the harm they may cause residents, businesses and communities.

SNT North have had two reports of theft over the last week, one heating oil and the other of diesel both from external tanks; both from rural locations.

To reduce the possibility of becoming a victim we are requesting residents that if they have any external fuel tanks that they are secured; and consider other precautions such as CCTV and alarms to reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim.
